The Columbia was in full flow. We spent some time along it's bank letting Pika swim in the eddies.
One of my favorite lakes in the Rockies. McArthur Lake is in Yoho NP. If you ever get the chance to go to Lake O'Hara, it's worth the extra hike to this pristine lake. Members of the group of seven have painted on location there. I took inspiration from J.E.H MacDonald. This piece will be framed in a custom floater frame once dry. Ready at the end of July 2026.
The access road to Jumpingpound creek in the fall. It's closed that time if year, but still accessible by foot. This piece comes framed in a custom handmade floater frame.
Some chickens looking for snacks.
Along a forestry road by Golden, BC. We were coming down from a hike at Gorman Lake. Along the road, these trees were the last standing tall in a clear-cut. Often, certain trees are left in clear-cuts, especially if they are not the type being harvested. This piece will be sold framed in a custom handmade floater frame (coming soon).
The snow was fresh, the shadows were strong. Pika and I regularly walk by this stand of trees on our walks. This particular morning, the lighting was perfect. This piece will be sold in a custom floater frame. Additional photos to come, once the frame is built.
Sibbald Pond is stocked with trout. We learned how to fly fish this past fall and decided to go try our luck at this location for our first catch. It was overcast, it was windy. The fish were there, but we couldn't cast far enough because of the wind gusts. We gave up after a couple hours. We still had fun and so did Pika. This painting was recently finished. It is still drying. Should be available at the end of February 2026.
During another walk in the woods with Pika, in the late afternoon, we came upon this stand of trees. A thicker one with a bunch of thin ones. It will need some time to dry as it's fresh. It should good to go in early February 2026.

There are a few clear-cuts along some of the forestry roads in BC. Not all trees get cut down. This aspect ratio might be one of my favorite size.

The reference was taken while hiking with our skis to Superbowl at Kickinghorse Mountain resort. We were looking for more powder to ski. This piece was recently painted and is still drying. It will be available mid-February 2026.

In the summer of 2024, we hiked along Mummery creek in hopes to get views of the glacier. The forest fires in BC we're starting to increase and the smoke was making for some interesting perspectives. This is in the Blaeberry area, near Golden, BC. We weren't able to cross the creek as the bridge was washed up. This piece was sold in a custom floater frame made in my garage.
